Job summary

VPET USA, LLC is hiring for a Material Handler II to move raw materials and finished goods, fabricate products on pallets, and operate automated wrapping equipment. Requires basic forklift operation and the ability to document IDs in the MRP system.

Candidates should be able to stand for long periods, work in a warehouse with temperature variations, and follow safety and quality rules. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Move raw materials and finished goods between staging areas and production lines.
  • Operate lift equipment and pallet jack as required.
  • Ensure pallets are secure and wrapped as per specifications.
  • Document pack IDs and complete required reports in MRP system.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and follow GMP rules.
  • Assist with de-palletizing, restacking and reworking as needed.
  • Respect break schedules and communicate issues to leads.

Job description

Reports to: Production Lead or Supervisor

Job Description overview:

In the Material Handler II role, you will be responsible for the moving and storage of raw materials and finished goods, including the fabrication of products on the pallets. Operates automated and stretch wrapping equipment. Plus, basic forklift operating skill and knowledge.

  • Able to perform all Material I duties
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Move raw materials (preforms, boxes, trays, etc.) from staging area(s) to required location
  • Continually check the production lines to ensure that each has all necessary amounts of correct raw materials such as preforms, boxes, trays, etc.
  • Secure finished goods on pallet per customer's specifications. (pack out information)
  • Document required information on reports such as the preform pack ID's, and finished goods pack IDs used.
  • Verify pallet is complete before moving from production line
  • Move finished product to wrapping staging area, wrap pallets with plastic wrap per requirements. Move wrapped pallets to designated area.
  • Assist with de-palletizing of product, restacking product, reworking product
  • Adheres to all instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices and housekeeping procedures.
  • Clean work area continually i.e., sweep work areas
  • Take trash, recyclable materials and pallets to designated locations.
  • Give breaks as directed by lead
  • Take inventory of raw materials and finished goods as directed by the Lead, scan or delete Pack ID's into MRP system.
  • Communicate any issues or quality concerns related to the product to co-workers, Lead, Process techs or shift change co-workers.
  • Operate a Lift Machine.
  • Must be able to pass sit down fork lift certification.
  • Move, stack and stage product i.e., (boxes, preforms, and trays).
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience operating a pallet jack is preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
Other skills and abilities:
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • English skills must be proficient to read, write and communicate.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to operate a pallet jack and possesses Fork lift license.
  • Must be committed to the success of the entire organization
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.
Physical Requirements:

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to push, pull, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.
  • Must be able to reach overhead with minimum assistance.
  • Work environment is in a warehouse and temperatures inside vary between hot or cold based on the outside conditions.
  • This is a fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
