Job description

Shift Times: Fri-Sun: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Starting Pay: $19.30 per hour

Material Handler I at Ditch Witch:

This employee fills orders, receives and stocks parts into the warehouse, delivers parts with forklifts or Raymond, and unloads trucks. The employee also performs routine maintenance on forklifts and parts wagons.

What Will You Do?

  1. Read information from various documents.
  2. Locate and identify parts in the warehouse.
  3. Use a forklift, Raymond, or hoist to move or deliver parts and containers.
  4. Count or use scales to weigh and count parts.
  5. Use a computer to check the location, inventory, and routing/ordering of parts.
  6. Perform routine service on forklifts, including filling the propane tank, checking and adding engine oil, cleaning the radiator, and washing the forklift.

What Will You Need?

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Prior forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
  3. Appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including understanding written instructions, recording transactions accurately, and performing basic calculations.

Work Environment:

  1. Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt).
  2. Limited outdoor exposure (while getting parts and filling forklift propane tank).
  3. Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, overhead storage, and materials handling.
  4. Working with hazardous materials, including LPG, solvents, oils, grease, acids, caustics, paints, and batteries.
