Qualifications

  • Assist machine operators with moving heavy materials using manual or powered equipment, including hoists.
  • Transfer materials between departments and work areas as directed.
  • Pull materials and fill orders from designated storage locations and deliver them to the appropriate departments.
  • Inspect incoming materials and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies.
  • Open containers using appropriate hand tools and safely unpack materials.
  • Count, weigh, label, and record materials accurately.
  • Follow established safety procedures and material-handling practices at all times.
  • Understand and follow applicable ISO 9000 procedures related to Material Handler responsibilities.
  • Receive incoming materials and prepare products and materials for shipment.
  • Unpack, unwrap, inspect, and organize finished products, raw materials, assemblies, parts, supplies, equipment, and other items.
  • Verify quantities, weights, identification, and general condition of received or shipped materials.
  • Accurately enter receiving, shipping, and inventory information into computer systems.
  • Process freight bills, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Record shipping weights, charges, and other required information.
  • Route materials and merchandise to the appropriate destinations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform inventory counts as required.
  • Follow established shipping methods, transportation requirements, routing instructions, and schedules.
