Job summary

Apogee Architectural Metals is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support inventory in our manufacturing facility. You will assist in receiving, picking, packing and shipping, aligning with SOPs and safety standards.

The role emphasizes cycle counts, reading work instructions, operating basic handling equipment, and maintaining accurate data in our systems. Collaboration with a busy team, attention to detail, and flexibility for overtime are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Operation of basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
  • Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
  • Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
  • Ability to follow blueprints and Work Instructions / SOPs.
  • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).

Responsibilities

  • Receive, pick, pack, and ship product following SOPs.
  • Manage inventory with cycle counts and stock rotation.
  • Use warehouse management systems to track and report inventory.
  • Read and interpret work instructions and blueprints.
  • Perform data entry and basic computer tasks.
  • Maintain organization and space utilization for efficient operations.
  • Safely lift, move, and handle materials.
  • Cross-train to support all Material Handler I roles.

Job Overview

Assists in accurately handling inventory according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Materials team works together to receive, pick, pack, and ship product to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
  • Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and reporting inventory.
  • Basic problem‑solving skills for handling discrepancies in orders or inventory.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • Perform basic computer functions related to data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills for efficient space utilization and inventory management.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
  • Must be cross‑trained and able to support all Material Handler I roles.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and dust from production processes. Associates will frequently work near or with machinery with moving parts, following strict safety protocols. The facility operates on shift schedules with potential for overtime, including weekends, based on production needs. This environment emphasizes team collaboration and adherence to safety regulations to ensure the well‑being of all associates.
