Pay: $18.79 per hour. This position is eligible for Daily Pay, allowing employees to access their pay on their own schedule through our partnership with DailyPay.

Job Summary

The Material Handler I, Operations will primarily work in production and warehouse environments, operating heavy equipment to move, store, and retrieve materials in accordance with organizational procedures and recycling guidelines. Customer service is essential, including greeting customers warmly and responding professionally to inquiries.

Essential Functions
  • Operate and become certified on equipment such as compactors, balers, hand dollies, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Sort recyclable materials by type and ensure proper placement.
  • Maintain sufficient materials in production areas.
  • Prepare items for store rotations and recycling processes.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Prevent overfilling of recycling and trash bins.
  • Follow all policies to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
  • Support a safe working environment for all.
  • Cross-train in other departments and serve as backup when needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
  • Previous warehouse or recycling experience preferred.
  • Experience as a Goodwill Outlet/Warehouse Associate or similar role preferred.
Other Skills
  • Ability to operate balers and other equipment safely.
  • Follow outlet and warehouse procedures.
  • Lift up to 45 lbs unassisted and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
  • Stand, bend, and lift for up to 8 hours.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime.
