Job summary

O'Neal Manufacturing Services is hiring a Material Handler I for the 3rd shift in Greensboro, NC. The role includes receiving and storing inbound inventory, pulling materials for orders, and loading shipments using forklifts and related equipment.

The position requires basic math, blueprint reading, and adherence to safety standards. Candidates must be physically able to lift 25–50 lbs and operate material handling tools; this is a full-time, on-site role with a weekly pay cycle.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely; maintain certifications.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to read simple blueprints.
• Ability to read measuring tools and interpret measurements.
• Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Receive inbound inventory and verify accuracy; store materials properly.
• Pull inventory to fulfill customer orders; load materials onto trucks.
• Move materials within facility using forklifts, hand trucks, cranes and other equipment.
• Clean parts and assemble products or kits as required.
• Ensure high accuracy and quality for internal and external customers.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and follow established processes.

• 3rd Shift: Mon-Fri. 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Safety Commitment:
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Shipping and Receiving:
• Receive inbound inventory and verify accuracy.
• Place materials into designated storage locations.
• Pull inventory from storage to fulfill customer orders.
• Load materials onto trucks and trailers for outbound shipments.
• Material Handling:
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, cranes, and other material handling equipment to move materials within the facility and to/from trucks or trailers.
• Parts Cleaning and Assembly:
• Clean parts using hand or pedestal grinders and other metal finishing equipment.
• Assemble products or kits as required.
• Quality and Accuracy:
• Ensure error-free work for internal and external customers.
• Follow established processes to support safety and quality programs.

General Duties

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work under direct supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to operate forklifts, and material handling equipment safely Must be able to operate overhead cranes utilizing pendant radio controls. Must maintain certifications for required equipment.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure.
• Knowledge of safe and best practices for loading and unloading materials from trailers or trucks.
• Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, including walking 2-5 miles per shift.
• Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop repeatedly for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 25lbs - 50lbs from floor to waist and front carry up to 25lbs - 50lbs repeatedly per shift.
• Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, and climb short ladders or steps.
• Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Ability to read labels, follow safety instructions, and communicate effectively in an industrial environment.
• 20/30 vision with the use of corrective lenses.
• Subject to environmental conditions the occur indoors and outdoors which include, but not limited to:
• Exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises, and vibration from use of equipment.
• Hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat, and exposure to chemicals.
• Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation that may affect the respiratory system or skin.
• Oils: air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
