Material Handler - Inventory Control

About the Team

We are a fast-paced manufacturing facility and distribution center employing approximately 110 associates in warehousing, production planning, assembly, finishing, and packaging of high-quality lighting fixtures and house parts.


About the Role

You will perform a variety of entry-level tasks supporting the movement, storage, and packaging of inventory at receipt points and within the warehouse to fulfill customer orders. As an Inventory Control Material Handler 1, you will be assigned to an area of primary responsibility (such as cycle counting or inventory audit) and work in other functions as needed.


Responsibilities

  1. Support the movement, storage, and shipment of goods across various functional areas, including Shipping (Packaging), Receiving, Packing, Bagging, Hardware, Cycle Counting, Inventory Audit, and Put away.
  2. Perform tasks such as packaging and shipping sales orders, stock put away, picking parts and products for orders, staging, routing, and loading trailers.
  3. Operate warehouse equipment (forklift, wave, pallet jack, etc.) following safety guidelines.
  4. Conduct in-line quality checks to maintain quality standards.
  5. Collaborate with team members to improve operational processes and ensure accurate order completion and problem resolution.
  6. Assist in other functional areas based on business needs.
  7. Follow all safety rules, processes, and standards.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Criteria

  • Prior experience in warehousing, shipping, or receiving preferred.
  • Experience in Inventory Control preferred.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred; ability to pass forklift certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English effectively.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to follow directions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, and frequently lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Onsite work in the factory Monday through Friday.

Work Conditions

Work is performed in a distribution/manufacturing environment with potential exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, fumes, flammable materials, dirt, grease, electrical equipment, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures. Personal Protective Equipment is provided as required.
