Job description

The Material Handler position supports the shipping and inventory control departments with a variety of tasks. The incumbent is a self-starter who is reliable, flexible, and able to work well independently and under direct supervision. Tasks vary depending on real time demand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Material Handler I: Needs to be able to perform at least 50% of the below duties.

  • Package and palletize new and repair pumps according to work instructions.
  • Process shipments for both new and repair pumps. Duties include creating and properly adhering labels for boxes, requesting trucks and preparing BOLs, creating UPS/FedEx labels and attaching all shipping documents to packages in accordance.
  • Use handheld device to perform parts transfers related to replenishing stock bins, kitting shop orders and fulfilling assembler needs.
  • Prepare shop orders to be kitted, including determining urgent orders, by printing necessary paperwork and labels.
  • Receive inbound product. Duties include checking parts in and verifying against packing slips, entering receipt in data base, and properly labeling stock with necessary information or identifiers.
  • Put incoming parts away in correct bin or shelf location, taking care to rotate stock based on FIFO.
  • Assist as needed with cycle counts.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining the warehouse area in a clean and orderly fashion for the flow of parts and safety of all employees.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Material Handler II: Needs to be able to perform at least 80% of above duties as well as 50% of below duties.

  • Properly and completely handle non-conforming material through the DMR process. This includes ensuring inventory transactions and database workflows are completed accurately and parts are labeled correctly.
  • Generate and perform cycle counts autonomously, including investigating any discrepancies and resolving issues.
  • Ability to process Purchase Requisition workflows in order to replenish shop supply stock. i.e. packaging supplies, labels, pallets and other materials commonly used.
  • Analyze shipping schedule to determine which orders are ready to ship. Print pick tickets accordingly based on stock on hand and communicate with production floor on completion timeline for past due orders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • This position requires a versatile person who is detail oriented, learns quickly, follows instruction, and is able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Computer literate and basic MS Excel experience required.
  • Must be willing and able to complete forklift training and certification.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
