A leading company seeks a Material Handler I to work in a fast-paced logistics environment. Responsibilities include inventory management, material handling, and compliance with safety standards. Material Handler I
Pay: $20/hr.
Shift:Days
Position Summary:
A Material Handler works in a fast-paced environment in all areas of Logistics with the goal of meeting/exceeding both our internal and external customers’ expectation. These include but are not limited to: Picking and staging material, cycle counting and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
oInventory Receipt and Storing of new approved materials.
oPicking and staging Work Orders from a pick list
oOperating material handling equipment
oWorking in and out of a -20C Freezer and 5C Cold Room.
oCompletes Material Request Forms & material movements for material requests including scrap execution
oFamiliar with working and managing to Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
oSupports real time inventory discrepancies, Research & identify root cause
oAssume responsibility for special projects assigned by the Team Leads, Supervisor and/or management.
oPerform frequent inventory, stock rotation and cycle counting.
oMay perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Working Conditions:
oPerforms work of a highly repetitive nature.
oWill walk and may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 50 lbs.
oMay handle “packaged” hazardous materials.
oThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
oMust be available to work any shift (with advance notice of shift change).
oMust be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
oMust be able to lift 50lbs or more
Safety:
oComplying with all company safety regulations and procedures and report non-compliance.
oServing as an effective safety steward by ensuring accurate reporting of near misses and attending safety trainings.
oOperating a safe work environment through continuous safety awareness and full compliance to all EHS programs and activities.
oMaintain compliance to PPE requirements
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
oRequires a minimum of 1 – 3 years related experience. Experience with Inventory Control is a plus.
oHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.
oDemonstrates strong communication skills
oConsistently demonstrates positive and productive results
oInteracts equally well with all employees applying strong social skills
oFollows written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently
oAbility to consistently meet deadlines
oPersonable, and perpetuates a can-do positive attitude
oAbility to work in a fast paced environment
oComputer skills are required with the ability to learn and retain new computer programs
Preferred Qualifications:
oExperience using a forklift.
oExperience with QAD (Oracle) software.
oExperience with Continuous Improvement and 5S theories and principles.
oExperience with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $15.08–$25.14.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
