Watts Water Technologies in Groveport, OH is seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler I. You will verify, pack, and load outbound shipments, including LTL and full truckloads, ensuring accuracy and product integrity.

Reports to the Distribution Center Supervisor, with second shift hours from 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year of related experience, plus ability to read safety rules and perform basic math.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret graphs.
• Must be able to operate digital scales.

Responsibilities

• Verify and pack all outbound LTL and truck load shipments for correct quantities and items.
• Ensure optimum loading of outbound trailers for accuracy, integrity, load sequence, and cube efficiency.
• Verify proper loading to ensure safe transit of material to customers.
• Help control flow of people, equipment, and product on dock and handle transfers within inter-plant.
• Other duties as assigned.

Scope of Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Material Handler I to ensure the accurate and timely shipment of all customer and agent orders. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying, packing, and loading outbound shipments, including LTL and full truckloads, while maintaining accuracy and product integrity.

This position reports to the Distribution Center Supervisor.

Second shift hours: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm (over time as needed).

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify and pack all outbound LTL and truck load shipments for correct quantities and items


• Ensure the optimum loading of all outbound trailers for accuracy, integrity, load sequence, and maximized "cube" shipments


• Verify for proper loading to ensure safe transit of material to customers


• Help control flow of people, equipment, and product on dock as it pertains to completion of orders, receipt of incoming, and transfers within inter-plant


• Must be able to operate digital scales


• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required


• 1+ year(s) of related experience


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals


• Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs


• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a Distribution Center facility. You will be required to work at the Company's Groveport location in Ohio. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
