Job summary

TriMas Company LLC is hiring a Material Handler I-1st shift in City of Industry, CA. This on-site role moves raw materials and finished goods, uses forklifts, and manages materials flow across the plant.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in a fast-paced warehouse, forklift certification, and basic math/data entry skills. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Move raw materials, supplies and finished goods manually or with equipment to designated areas.
  • Receive raw material, pull wire samples and provide docs to the POR per internal procedures.
  • Deliver and retrieve wire and equipment; weigh coils and stock/re-stock materials.
  • Ensure proper identification tags and paperwork for all products.
  • Prepare pallets, load/unload materials from trucks and organize wire carriers.
  • Maintain records, perform data entry and adhere to safety policies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: Move raw materials, supplies and finished goods manually, by hand truck or forklift to designated areas in the facility or onto trucks as necessary or defined by Materials Supervisor.

  • Responsible for physically receiving raw material, pulling wire samples, and providing documentation to receiving clerk in order to create a purchase order receiver (POR) per QSI 10.01 section 5.0.
  • Delivers and retrieves wire and equipment from the Heading floor and/or moves production parts to various operations.
  • Performs weighing of wire coils at headers, stocking and re-stocking of wire, ensuring that all materials have accurate weight and/or piece count.
  • Verifies that all product and materials have accurate and appropriate identification tags, documentation, and/or paperwork.
  • Prepares pallets, loads and unloads raw material wire onto and off delivery trucks.
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining all wire carriers, including palletizing to prepare for return to Suppliers.
  • Performs record keeping, data entry, and housekeeping and follows all safety regulations and policy.
Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $19.00 - $29.86.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills required.

Forklift certification.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One (1) year experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally require to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
