Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC, a leader in wire and cable manufacturing in North America, seeks a Material Handler to support its manufacturing operations. This role focuses on accuracy, safety, and timely fulfillment of customer orders in a fast-paced plant environment.

You will operate a forklift, stage products, and input data while adhering to quality standards and procedures. This position offers growth opportunities within a major industrial employer in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year forklift experience.
• Stand/walk for 10–12 hours.
• Lift up to 75 pounds with/without assistance.
• Basic computer skills; SAP desirable.

Pay Rate:$18.72– $20.60

Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will support our manufacturing operations by providing a full range of warehousing and logistics services to ensure fulfillment to customer and business expectations. What you will do:

• Focus on excellent customer service and take pride in every order we fill for our customers
• Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and move material in the warehouse or plant
• Stage finished products
• Entering data using warehouse computer applications
• Perform all duties and specific projects as assigned in a safe and productive manner

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year experience operating a forklift
• Ability to work in a team oriented environment
• Must have basic computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, Data Entry, SAP desirable
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
• Meeting physical requirements, such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
• Possess extreme attention to detail, organization and accuracy
• The ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
