Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC is seeking a Material Handler in North Carolina to support slitting operations by retrieving and returning materials, maintaining inventory, and ensuring finishing equipment operates smoothly.

The role requires valid tow motor and NC driver's licenses, ability to operate pallet jacks and waste baler, knowledge of production schedules, and strong organizational and math skills. A team‑oriented, safety‑minded candidate is essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid tow motor license.
  • Valid NC driver\'s license.
  • Ability to operate waste baler and manual/electric pallet jacks.
  • Knowledge of production schedules and material requirements.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of SAP, data entry experience, basic math with decimals/percentages.
  • Medium manual dexterity.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, safety conscious, and a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Create tow motor inspection reports.
  • Ensure finishing equipment works correctly and create repair work orders/notifications.
  • Ensure materials such as cartons, cores, spacers, bags, films, labels, end pieces, and pallets are available and inventoried.
  • Retrieve and/or return supplies, materials, and cores for slitter crews and other locations.
  • Load and unload elevator.
  • Instruct trainees in material handling and record keeping.
  • Receive and maintain material in designated storage areas.
  • Assist slitter crew/packer when needed.
  • Suggest ways to reduce costs, improve safety, or improve product/process.

Summary of Position

The Material Handler assists the department by retrieving and returning materials for the slitting crews. This position ensures finishing equipment is working appropriately and assists in weekly inventory procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create tow motor inspection reports.
  • Ensure finishing equipment is working correctly and create repair work orders/notifications.
  • Ensure proper materials such as cartons, cores, spacers, bags, films, labels, end pieces, and pallets are available and inventoried.
  • Retrieve and/or return supplies, materials, and cores for slitter crews and other locations.
  • Load and unload elevator.
  • Instruct trainees in all phases of material handling and record keeping.
  • Receive and maintain material in designated storage areas.
  • Assist slitter crew/packer when or if needed.
  • Make suggestions on reducing costs, improving safety, and/or improving product or process.
Qualifications

  • Valid tow motor license

Physical Demands
  • Ability to position and lift 25–60 pounds.
