Job Description

Material Handler – Reading, PA

Hours are 10:30pm - 7:00am Sunday evening thru Friday morning

Responsibilities include loading, unloading, and moving materials within the plant, yard, or work site. Employees may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Read and understand work orders/BOMs and follow oral instructions to identify materials needed for production.
  • Operate industrial lift trucks or electric hoists to move materials and products efficiently.
  • Load and unload materials onto carts and stage at machinery.
  • Navigate shop floor data collection systems and generate reports to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Fill out necessary paperwork and attach labels to materials and containers.
  • Assist machine operators with scrap removal, loading cartons, and relieving machines for breaks.
  • Maintain a clean work area and handle recycling materials appropriately.
  • Support Shipping and Receiving with loading, unloading, and relocating materials.
  • Follow all Quality and Environmental Management System procedures.
  • Comply with company policies, safety, and environmental regulations.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience; or equivalent.
  • Tow motor certification required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and handle multiple tasks.
