Job Overview
The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production teams receive the correct materials on time while maintaining strict compliance with aerospace quality, safety, and traceability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and specifications
- Safely store materials in designated warehouse locations following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and inventory control procedures
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production lines in accordance with work orders and schedules
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP/MRP systems and perform cycle counts as required
- Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and handling of sensitive aerospace components
- Support shipping operations, including packaging and preparing outbound shipments
- Identify and report damaged, defective, or non-conforming materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
- Follow all company policies, OSHA safety standards, and aerospace regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred)
- Basic understanding of inventory systems and material tracking processes
- Ability to read work orders, part numbers, and technical documentation
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills (ERP/MRP systems experience preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace or highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems
- Experience with barcode scanning systems and inventory software
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and warehouse setting
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required

$20.24–$22.61 USD
