LaunchPoint Electric Propulsion Solutions, Inc. in Goleta, California, is seeking a Material Handler I to support production and quality teams in material movement and logistics for manufacturing of LPEPS products.

This is a hands-on role on the shop floor with opportunities to contribute to supply readiness. You’ll transact materials using MRP, assist with shipments, inspections, cycle counts, and 5S, and may travel to suppliers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related warehouse or logistics experience.
• MRP transactional experience.
• Basic mathematical skills to interpret engineering prints and inspect parts.

Responsibilities

• Support Production Planning by using MRP to transact and kit material for WOs.
• Assist Procurement with Commercial Off the Shelf and Shop Floor Supply orders.
• Ship LP products, ensure safe transit and provide tracking information.
• Receive and inspect incoming materials against POs and document quality data.
• Label and organize materials per QMS traceability standards.
• Perform regular cycle counts and assist in inventory counts.
• Perform daily 5S in shipping, receiving and inventory areas.

LaunchPoint EPS is seeking a Material Handler I to collaborate with production and quality teams to provide material movement and logistical support to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing of LPEPS products.

What You’ll Do – Material Handler I

• Support Production Planning by utilizing MRP to transact and kit material for WOs. Resolve or elevate material shortages and inventory discrepancies promptly.
• Support Procurement with Commercial Off the Shelf and Shop Floor Supply orders
• Shipping of LP products utilizing best commercial practice, product prints or special instructions on Sales Orders. Ensure safe transit and adequate insurance (if required). Maintain adequate inventory of packaging material. Provide tracking information to interested parties.
• Comply with Export Compliance regulations.
• Receive and inspect incoming materials against POs, verifying quantities, documenting quality data and perform and document dimensional and mechanical inspections with calibrated equipment
• Efficiently and accurately label and organize materials in designated inventory locations in accordance with QMS traceability standards
• Perform regular cycle counts and assist in quarterly and annual physical inventory counts
• Perform daily 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain) of shipping and receiving and inventory areas including outside docks
• Follows all safe work practices & safety rules
• Occasional travel to suppliers to expedite delivery
• Perform light facilities and routine janitorial duties as assigned by the Sr Manager of Operations.
• Support Administration team with events or all hands gatherings
• All other duties as assigned by your supervisor

What You Need (Qualifications)

• High school diploma, technical training and 2+ years of related warehouse or logistics experience
• MRP transactional experience
• Basic mathematical skills to interpret engineering prints and to inspect parts
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Computer proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Extreme attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50lbs)
• Ability to stand long periods of time
• Valid California driving license

Highly Desirable Competencies (Bonus Qualifications)

• AS Degree in Business or STEM
• Working knowledge of GD&T principles
• Work experience in an AS9100 QMS environment
• Familiarity with ASCM – Association for Supply Chain Management

Pay Transparency

Salary range for this position is between $23.00 and $28.00 per hour. Base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and all applicable company benefits.
