Job description

Our client, a leader in the light industrial sector, is seeking a Material Handler I to join their team. As a Material Handler I, you will be part of the logistics department supporting the shipping and receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Chicago, IL (Bedford Park)

Pay Range: $20.00 Hourly

What's the Job?

  • Load, unload, and store finished products, raw materials, supplies, and containers.
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and proper plant procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and shipping orders in computer systems.
  • Prepare trailers for loading and review material for customer and government requirements.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean and orderly, ensuring good housekeeping practices.

What's Needed?

  • High school education or equivalent; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Packager/Utility Operator or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Sitdown Forklift experience required
  • Ability to pass a forklift driver skills test.
  • Proficiency in using desk and hand-held computer equipment.
  • Capability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in a safe manner.
