Basic Job Functions
  • Material Handler I is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of materials in the warehouse and/or shipping dock environment. This role involves receiving, storing, cycle counting, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the establishment. Material Handler I ensures that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and in good condition, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the supply chain. Engages in packaging, loading, unloading, storing, and transporting materials and products by performing the described duties. Ensures the correct Oracle transactions are performed for goods receipts and item issuances out of inventory.
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of sit‑down forklift experience being primary function within the past 4 years.
  • 6+ months of experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
  • Experienced Industrial Equipment Operator.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Required Skills/Competencies
  • Basic mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Experienced computer knowledge; Microsoft Office knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to use warehouse management software and inventory systems.
  • Ability to obtain Hazmat Ground Shipper (DOT) within 2 months and maintain certification according to regulatory requirements.
  • As requested, ability to obtain Hazmat Air Shipper (IATA) and maintain certification according to regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to maintain Industrial Equipment Operator (Manual/Electric Pallet Jack, Forklift) Certification according to regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational capabilities; detail oriented, flexible, problem solver and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work early morning or late‑night shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Previous experience with shipping/receiving documents.
  • Previous experience with RF scanners is needed.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company EH&S policies and procedures as well as local and federal regulations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to designated production areas or outgoing shipments.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on material handling equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Participate in SWATs.
  • Perform all shipping/receiving requirements, including product packaging and shipping as directed and in a safe manner.
  • Follow the rules and regulations of C‑TPAT.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment; load and unload vehicles as well as internal movement of material.
  • Execute outbound shipments of finished goods from manufacturing facility to offsite warehouse ensuring the quality and integrity of the pallet remains intact.
  • Perform daily/weekly cycle inventory counts and assist in the investigation of any inventory variances.
  • Perform daily equipment inspection including racks, forklifts, battery, and any equipment moved by the forklift.
  • Perform Oracle transactions for goods receipts and items issuances out of inventory.
  • Work with supporting departments on investigating any inventory/receipts discrepancies.
  • Maintain effective communications levels and foster team building in and outside the department.
  • Support 5S program by practicing good housekeeping and in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Able to function as a courier.
  • Able to use hand tools such as nail guns, air hose, etc.
  • Perform other assignments as required, including assisting in Production and other departments when necessary.
  • Label and transfer chemicals received; check Safety Data Sheets and update inventory list; notify recipient.
  • Maintain efficient warehouse space utilization by organizing pallets, crates, and boxes more efficiently, maximizing available space, maintaining clearance zones, improving visibility of contents and ownership, and enhancing overall accessibility.
  • Practice good housekeeping and in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Provide good customer service to colleagues by offering support, mutual respect, and clear communication to promote a collaborative workplace.

  • This position reports on the Lead Buyer.

Estimated Salary Range
  • $21.38 USD per hr. – $29.38 USD per hr.
US Physical Requirements
  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Will climb stairs or steps on a frequent basis.
  • Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis, according to work instruction.
  • Will lift up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Will push or pull up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis.

  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • 20/40 vision in both eyes (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green is required.

  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to: steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection & respirators) and a condition of employment and continued employment (may require little or no facial hair).
  • Any position with an essential function of PIV operation requires 20/40 vision in each eye separately and both eyes (with or without correction), the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green and peripheral vision >70 degrees.
