Job summary

Chipton-Ross, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler I in Byhalia, Mississippi to move product through a distribution center safely and accurately.

The role requires basic math, ability to read and spell simple words, and willingness to work overtime. Proficiency with a Warehouse Management System and RF devices is preferred.

This contract position emphasizes adherence to safety, environmental, and quality procedures while supporting continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication & division using a calculator.
• Ability to read a limited number of two-and three syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to work overtime, as necessary, scheduled, or unscheduled.
• Ability to understand temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Responsibilities

• Verify and apply stickers for Inbound and Outbound Processes.
• Process hazardous materials in accordance with International Civil Aviation Regulations.
• Able to use a Radio Frequency Terminal / Scan gun to process product throughout warehouse.
• Required to use assigned individual security passwords
• Assure compliance to all procedures related to Regulatory, Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements (Including spills, damages, and returns).
• Process and stage damaged product in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Must use correct pallets and packaging (as required by customer or country) to ship product.
• Participate in projects/teams to continuously improve the operation and key result areas (i.e., safety, quality, service and cost).
• Utilise Warehouse Computer Applications (WMS, RF Equipment)
• Performing other tasks, as assigned.
• Complete Pick/Pack documents for Freezer products and packing lists, as required.
• Document Inventory Discrepancies.
• Complete training assignments, on time
