Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a bulk transport operator to safely move scrap and finished materials by truck to and from barges and storage yards. You will perform pre-trip inspections, safe loading and unloading, and coordinate with customers to meet service expectations.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work all shifts and weekends in varying weather conditions. Prior heavy equipment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduation certificate or equivalent is desired but not required.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and knowledge of traffic laws.
• Must be able to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Must be able to take direction and supervision and work cooperatively with other people.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a sitting position (i.e. vehicle cab) for extended periods of time.
• Requires work in all types of weather conditions. Must be available to work all shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate various size construction trucks up to ~100 ton, transporting scrap and/or finished materials to and from marine dock, storage yard, receiving bins and other locations as required.
• Follow proper procedures for loading, traveling and dumping loads.
• Follow proper procedures for startup, shut down and lockout of the vehicle.
• Perform routine inspection of the vehicle prior to operation and noting any problems requiring maintenance.
• Perform approved maintenance on vehicle as needed.
• Perform fueling and lubrication of the vehicle as required.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean and in working order at the end of the shift.
• Promptly respond to customer requests for service, materials and support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

• - Understand and comply with policies, procedures and guidelines for the safe operation of the vehicle
• - Perform routine inspection of the vehicle prior to operation and noting any problems requiring maintenance
• - Perform approved maintenance on vehicle as needed
• - Perform fueling and lubrication of the vehicle as required
• - Follow proper procedures for loading, traveling and dumping loads
• - Follow proper procedures for startup, shut down and lockout of the vehicle
• - Ensure the vehicle is clean and in working order at the end of the shift

• - Perform other duties as assigned

What You Need
