As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in supporting our Supply Chain operations by ensuring materials are safely received, stored, tracked, and distributed while maintaining inventory accuracy and product traceability.

Position Summary

The ground hand is responsible for supporting daily yard operations, including assisting with the loading and unloading of pipe, material staging, inventory control, forklift operation, truck inspections, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position works primarily outdoors and requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to perform physical labor in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Manage the load, unload, and stage pipe and related materials.

• Assist with receiving and shipping activities.
• Verify material quantities, heat numbers, lengths, and product identification.

Operate yard equipment such as backhoe, dozer, forklifts, sweeper, dust suppressant sprayer.

• Conduct visual inspections of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Band, tag, and prepare materials for customer orders and shipment.
• Maintain yard organization and housekeeping standards.
• Assist truck drivers with safe loading and unloading practices.
• Perform general labor duties as needed to support operations.
• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a pipe yard, steel yard, construction, oil & gas, or industrial environment preferred.

Forklift experience preferred.

• Ability to identify and handle various pipe products and materials.
• Experience loading and unloading flatbeds a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

• Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills.
