Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our Tulsa distribution center. You will operate forklifts, load and unload building materials, and maintain safe, efficient workflow.

We offer $19.67 per hour, Monday–Friday schedule, plus medical, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, PTO and holidays. If you have warehouse experience and a strong safety record, we want you on our team.

Qualifications

• One year or more of forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklift to transport products and load/unload.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders and safety materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts.

What You’ll Do

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What We’re Looking For

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history

The fixed rate is $19.67 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations. BlueLinx also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting the first day of the month, 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day, and 8 paid holidays per year.
