Job summary

Sargent Metal in Anderson, SC is seeking a Material Handler to move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods safely and efficiently on site, ensuring production lines stay stocked and on schedule.

You will load/unload materials, transport pallets with forklifts, keep work areas organized, support production teams, and follow safety policies. The position requires stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Prior forklift experience required (electric and/or propane).
• 1–2 years forklift experience preferred.
• Able to pass forklift certification test.
• Strong safety, organization, and detail orientation.
• Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist across production.
• Stand 10–12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs; manual tasks required.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload raw materials from storage and deliver to machines/workstations.
• Transport pallets of parts and raw materials on the production floor with forklifts.
• Maintain production schedules by ensuring material availability.
• Support production teams to meet workflow goals.
• Stack, stage, and organize materials for safe operations.
• Perform general housekeeping to keep a clean, safe environment.
• Follow safety policies, OSHA regulations, and procedures.
• Promote teamwork and clear communication across shifts.
• Follow written/verbal instructions and coordinate with supervisors.
