Essential Functions

All Material Handlers:

  • Operates a lift truck by driving backward and twisting to look in the direction of travel continually.
  • Performs routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
  • Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transport materials.
  • Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets and secures material for transport.
  • Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets.
  • Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Unloader:

  • Unloads products from inbound carriers.
  • Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.
  • Inspects the condition of all received products.
  • Moves and places products safely in their proper storage location.

Preloader:

  • Receives and reads preload orders.
  • Fills orders by accurately picking products from storage.
  • Inspects and loads trucks according to recommended loading practices.
  • Uses scanning devices and computers as needed.

Truck Loaders:

  • Inspects trailers before loading products.
  • Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.
  • Moves products into the trailer and secures the load for travel.
