Job summary

Novo Building Products is seeking a Material Handler for our Bowerston, OH warehouse. You will move pallets, ensure safe transport, and maintain accurate inventory of finished goods.

This day shift position requires operating a powered industrial truck, following safety procedures, and communicating any discrepancies to the Supervisor. Prior PIT experience and basic math skills are preferred, with 18+ years old eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a sit-down or stand-up PIT.
• Ability to move and lift heavy items safely.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read and follow written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Excellent safety awareness and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Power Industrial Truck (PIT) to move products and pallets safely throughout the warehouse.
• Transport materials by counting and scanning to correct locations with accurate labeling.
• Ensure product is moved and scanned to correct locations and labels are accurate.
• Communicate discrepancies or safety issues with the Supervisor.
• Pass Novo PIT training and operate a PIT safely per company safety requirements.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Location: Bowerston - Bowerston, OH 44695

Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly

Job Shift: Day

Shift: Monday - Friday 4:30am-3pm

Pay: $18-$20/hour DOE

Position Summary

The Material Handler will be responsible for moving pallets of material around the warehouse with ease. The material handler will need to ensure the product is secure and safe for transport to designated locations and keep accurate inventory of all finished good.

Essential Responsibilities

• Operates a Power Industrial Truck (PIT) to move products and pallets safely throughout the warehouse.
• Accurately transports all purchased, manufactured, WIP, raw materials and finished goods by checking counts and scanning to the correct location and confirming product labels are accurate.
• Ensures that product is moved and scanned to the correct location and confirms product labels are accurate.
• Communicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with the Supervisor.
• Successfully passes all Novo powered industrial truck training and operates a PIT following all safety requirements established within Novo.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements.
• Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights.
• Experience with operating a sit-down and stand-up PIT.
• Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
• Ability to use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc.
• Must be 18 years of older.
• Able to visually inspect items for defects prior to pulling the item.
• Demonstrated capability to effectively use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc.
• Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed.
• Use of proper PPE and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating a powered industrial truck.
