Job summary

Shape is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support manufacturing, production and shipping/receiving by moving material with a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and other equipment, including sit-down hi-lo. You will help move raw materials and finished goods safely and efficiently.

Key requirements include at least 1 year of PIT experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to meet vision and safety standards to operate a PIT.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Powered Industrial Truck experience
• Experience with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Must meet vision requirements to operate a PIT as per regulations

Responsibilities

• Operate a Powered Industrial Truck to move or load products, materials, etc., safely.
• Adhere to safety specifications including stacking heights, seat belt use, speed limits, and signage.
• Maintain high situational awareness when operating a PIT to ensure safety of associates, products and equipment.
• Perform battery charging and changes safely, following company guidelines.
• Stack products and materials in various environments safely.
• Participate in 5S initiatives as required by the facility.
• Perform inventory-related tasks and/or coil hanging per facility requirements.
• Function as a team member and identify safety and process improvements.
• Operate banding equipment as required.
• Adhere to tagging specifications.
• Perform Shipping/Receiving related functions including use of handheld scanners/computers and loading/unloading trucks.
• Other duties as directed by leadership

Starting Pay Range:

$17.00 - $21.02 / hour + $2.00 / hour shift premium

Starting pay will be based on prior manufacturing experience.

Position Summary:

Support the manufacturing, production and shipping/receiving functions through the movement of material by using a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) or various alternative equipment. Will be moving raw material and finished product with various type of equipment including but not limited to sit down hi-lo.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

• Operate a Powered Industrial Truck to move or load products, materials etc. safely.
• Adhere to all safety specifications including stacking heights, seat belt use, speed limits, signage etc.
• Maintain a high level of awareness when operating a PIT of surroundings to ensure safety of all associates, product and equipment.

• Perform inventory related and/or coil hanging functions as needed based on the facilities individual requirements.
• Function as a member of a work team, identify safety and process improvements within the facility.
• Operate banding equipment as required.
• Adhere to tagging specifications.
• Perform Shipping/Receiving related functions including: use of hand held scanners and computers, and loading/unloading of trucks.
