Job summary

Nucor Corporation’s Lewisville, TX location is seeking a dependable Material Handler/Forklift Operator to support the NIPG Southeast division. You will read schedules, load/unload trucks outdoors, assist with receiving, and ensure safe handling of materials.

Responsibilities include loading, sequencing shipments, paperwork completion, and collaborating with the purchasing team. Prior forklift experience and a valid license are required; background in shipping/receiving is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• 2-3 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine materials required and priority.
• Load and unload trucks based on load sheets, outdoors in all weather.
• Participate in receiving (raw materials and warehouse parts) as directed by purchasing.
• Collect and deliver materials, following safety practices.
• Stack materials, load shipments, and ensure proper packaging and identification.
• Process related paperwork and perform other material handling duties as assigned.

Basic Job Functions:

• Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
• Must load and unloads trucks based on load sheet, working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Participates in the receiving process of all raw materials and warehouse parts as prescribed by the purchasing team.
• Collects and delivers a wide variety of materials, adhering to good safety practices in carrying out duties.
• Stacks materials in storage areas and loads shipments in trailer.
• Assure all bundles of material are accounted for, properly packaged, identified, and staged for loading.
• Process and complete all related paperwork.
• Will perform other material handling duties in other departments as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• 2-3 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior shipping and/or receiving experience.
• Forklift operation experience handling oversized loads.
• Experience driving a combi-lift
