Job summary

Novolex, a leading packaging manufacturer in Kalamazoo, MI, is hiring a Lift Truck Operator. The role performs forklift duties to deliver production materials and packaging supplies, remove finished product, and use the WH Management system to track materials.

The position features a 12-hour rotating shift from 5:20pm to 5:30am on a 2-2-3 schedule. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, basic math and computer skills, and forklift experience.

Lift Truck Operator Available Shift: 12-hour shift from 5:20pm-5:30am- 2-2-3 Schedule

Job Description:

Performs Forklift route duties to include providing correct production materials and packaging supplies to lines and removing finished product. Usage of WH Management system.

Duties

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Unload and receive packing and regrind trailers
• Stage shipments for transfers
• Move regrind/virgin material to/from lines
• Keep production supplied with correct packaging
• Dump trash using tippers
• Operate stretch wrapper
• Drain railcars
• Other duties as necessary

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally and work closely and productively as part of a cross.functional team
• Ability to create and/or exhibit an atmosphere of openness, honesty, trust, and teamwork.Safety:
• Demonstrates ability to understand and actively participate in all company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to safety load and unload materials to/from designated storage areas, racks and shelves, orvehicles
• Ability to develop and maintain processes that are ISO compliant.
• Can demonstrate ability to maintain work area in clean, safe order.
• Operate Equipment:
• Ability to operate motorized equipment and other peripheral equipment safely and efficiently as required
• Ability to feed and operate grinder without jamming or damaging grinder system
• Inventory Control/Management:
• Can demonstrate ability to accurately count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled, usingdaily production sheet or work ticke
• Can demonstrate proper techniques used to arrange materials/items in specified sequence for assembly and/ordistribution
• Demonstrates ability to accurately post data from one source to another in ERP or peripheral software systems
• Demonstrates ability to be a self starter and work independently to complete assignments/responsibilities
• Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize workload as required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Basic math and computer skills
