Job summary

New Flyer is seeking a Material Handler to support production through accurate inventory management and timely material delivery. The role focuses on safe forklift operation, cycle counts, and zone-based material flow to sustain manufacturing efficiency.

You will work in a structured environment, maintain 5S standards, and collaborate with production teams to move materials and handle waste in a safe, compliant manner.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or materials role preferred.
• Forklift operation experience or ability to become certified.
• Basic computer skills including Excel and Word.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Strong attention to detail with inventory counting.
• Self-motivated with good organizational and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift and obtain certifications.
• Maintain accurate inventory through counting, tracking, and cycle counts.
• Deliver materials to production lines and stock designated point-of-use locations.
• Set up storage solutions (racks, bins, carts) to prevent damage or loss.
• Establish and maintain designated drop zones for material delivery and removal.
• Support production teams with material movement and lifting as needed.
• Process and remove rejected or non-conforming materials daily.
• Dispose of waste materials and manage hopper/trash removal.
• Update visual management tools with part storage information.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in line with 5S standards.
• Actively contributes to workplace safety and incident prevention effort.
