Job summary

AdvanSix is seeking a Material Handler for our Virginia operations in Colonial Heights. The role focuses on loading, warehousing, and shipping of various containers, following our operating principles to ensure safety and efficiency.

You will work 12-hour rotating shifts, with holidays and overtime. Strong communication and teamwork skills, plus basic computer use (Word/Excel), are required. A forklift license and background check will be completed.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or GED.
Must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
Proficiency with a computer, including Word and Excel.
Background check and drug test required.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to meet physical requirements and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

Load, warehouse, and ship tankers, boxes, sacks, and overseas bulk containers using manual and mechanical processes.
Follow AdvanSix Operating System principles (Standard Work, 5S, continuous improvement).
Obtain a forklift license.
Participate in scheduled and unscheduled outages.
Train unqualified Material Handlers.
Perform additional duties as needed.
