Summary:
Material Handler supports the Materials Management Department. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have some experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Experience picking parts using a scanner and packing parts for shipment required. DOT medical exam required to drive company vehicles. Temporary to a permanent position.

Essential Functions or Responsibilities:
  • Pick and stage materials for production
  • Accurately pull parts from pick tickets and stages materials for production.
  • Safely operate various pieces of warehouse equipment (Cherry Pickers, Forklifts etc.).
  • Assist in physical inventories and cycle counting as directed.
  • Communicate issues regarding part discrepancies to the Warehouse Lead
  • Safely operates various pieces of warehouse equipment (Forklifts etc.)
  • Actively participate as a member of the team to move the team towards completion of goals.
  • Takes the initiative to find, identify and propose changes to processes not working well.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Proficient understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • At least 6 months experience operating a forklift or reach truck.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and customer relation skills
  • Preferred Working knowledge of MRP or ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must pass background check and drug test

Safety/Physical requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Requires bending, stooping and standing.
  • Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. (Overtime may extend the time period.)
  • Good visual and spatial perception.
  • Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
