Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support the NSWCDD shop. The role involves receiving and staging materials, cutting to length, and operating forklifts to move items throughout the shop. Proficiency with measuring tools and blueprints is expected, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to obtain a Secret security clearance, and good communication skills. Position offers comprehensive benefits and on-site work at Dahlgren, VA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; ability to obtain security clearance.
• Prior material handling experience in manufacturing or fabrication preferred.
• English reading/writing proficiency required for safety and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload materials from delivery trucks.
• Organize and stage raw materials in designated areas.
• Cut materials to specified lengths using a band saw as directed.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials.
• Use dial calipers and tape measures to verify dimensions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
