Job summary

Baker Commodities, Inc. – Western Mass Rendering division in Massachusetts is seeking a Plant Operator to safely move materials, load and unload in the yard, and operate or clean processing equipment in our facility.

Training for forklift operation is available, and attendance and teamwork are essential. Responsibilities include following procedures, maintaining clean work areas, and supporting production with reliable, punctual performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of production processes and operation of equipment.
• Skill to control equipment and monitor operations of it.
• Ability to move material with or without specialized equipment.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in a production setting.
• Less than 5% travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Move, load, unload materials in yard and move materials to hoppers.
• Clean work areas, machines and equipment in the plant.
• Operate equipment as instructed.
• Operate forklift (training available).
• Remove trash from plant and paint equipment as needed.
• Interact with others professionally and ethically.
• Follow department and company procedures.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operation.
