Job summary

Shaw Development is seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level role supports production by fetching materials, stocking cells, and maintaining organized inventory. Candidates should be able to lift up to 35 pounds and learn to operate a forklift once certified.

Qualifications

• Must possess forklift experience or demonstrate the aptitude to earn certification, as operation is a key function.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks.
• Capacity to lift and transport objects up to 35 pounds.
• Physical stamina to remain standing for shifts lasting 8 to 10 hours.
• Consistent attendance record and the ability to commit to our early morning start times.
• Foster a safe environment by following protocols and communicating clearly with colleagues and management.
• An eager mindset to learn new processes and follow guidance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret parts lists and follow directions.
• Support production goals by picking materials for work orders and keeping assembly cells stocked.
• Ensure inventory remains organized by restocking materials in their designated spots.
• Execute standard computer entries to track inventory movements.
• Help the team maintain precise inventory records by assisting with cycle counts.
• Utilize a forklift to move goods once you have earned your certification.
• Navigate the facility using stairs, freight elevators, and ladders as the job requires.
• Contribute to a tidy and secure workplace while handling additional tasks as directed.
