Job description

Carbel, part of Arvato, is a full-service 3PL provider serving national and international clients across various industries, with a strong focus on fashion and retail. As a forklift operator/material handler you will safely operate various powered industrial equipment, including but not limited to Reach Trucks, Cherry Pickers, and Electric Pallet Jacks.

YOUR TASKS
  • Systematically input, output, and transport goods between departments and/or other appropriate locations.

  • 5s Program: follow and maintain the 5s program and guidelines to ensure an efficient, safe, clean, and goal-oriented work environment.

  • Safely and efficiently operate various types of forklifts, including counterbalance, reach, and pallet jacks, to move, load, and unload materials.

  • Load and unload goods from trucks, pallets, and shelving units, ensuring that materials are handled safely and efficiently.

  • Transport products to different areas within the warehouse, including storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.

  • Assist with inventory counts and organization, ensuring that products are stored correctly and are easily accessible.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring forklifts are operated safely.

  • Perform daily standard routine checks and maintenance on forklifts, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and battery charge, and report any malfunctions or needed repairs.

  • Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct items and quantities are selected.

  • Ensure that loads are balanced and secure to prevent damage to goods and maintain safety.

  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment, including proper storage of materials and keeping aisles clear of obstructions.

  • Complete and maintain accurate records of all material movements, including shipping and receiving logs, inventory counts, and forklift maintenance records.

  • Work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other forklift operators to coordinate activities and ensure efficient workflow.

  • Meet deadlines and schedules for material handling tasks, ensuring that production and shipping timelines are adhered to.

  • Inspect products for damage or defects during handling and report any issues to supervisors.

  • Stay up-to-date with forklift operation training and certifications, and comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Be familiar with and follow emergency procedures, including responding to spills, accidents, or other incidents in the warehouse.

  • Assist with general labor duties as needed, including but not limited to manually unloading and loading product, picking, packing, bundling, sorting, etc.

  • Continuously support departmental processes.

YOUR PROFILE
  • 1 year experience operating forklifts, including cherry pickers and reach trucks.

  • Must possess a valid forklift license.

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.

  • Knowledge of SAP pertaining to warehouse activities preferred.

  • Must be able to operate a lift truck to reach heights of up to 40 feet.

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds overhead.

  • Must be able to climb and stack cartons at a height of 15 feet.

  • Must be able to push and pull a pallet jack with weight ranges of up to 1500 pounds.

  • May work with Dangerous Goods or Cold Chain materials.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Non Climate controlled warehouse environment.

  • Moderate to Loud noise level.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
