Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking a dependable distribution center employee to support receiving, storage, and shipment of supplies. The role requires a valid Class C license, ability to lift heavy items, and proficiency with standard warehouse equipment.

Demonstrated English communication skills and prior warehouse experience are preferred. Work is performed in a distribution setting with exposure to outdoor and non-air-conditioned environments, with a 261-day calendar and a pay grade of $15.51

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License Class C required; Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
• Warehouse/distribution center experience preferred.
• Physically able to lift up to 80 lbs and operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Able to work in non-air-conditioned environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive merchandise using receiving tickets, purchase orders, and bills of lading.
• Pull and issue supplies from inventory and stage for shipping with proper packaging and labeling.
• Load delivery vehicles per routing schedule.
• Operate forklift and other standard warehouse equipment safely.
• Perform routine maintenance on warehouse equipment and report safety concerns.
• Learn and use the ISD purchasing and inventory systems related to material handling.
• Assist in weekly inventory processes.
• Make emergency hot shot deliveries as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager or designee.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Clear and valid Driver's License (Class C required; Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred) and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver's requirements.
• Ability to speak, read and understand the English language and perform counting and mathematical skills.
• Warehouse or distribution center experience with a working knowledge of warehouse terms and experience in the operation of standard warehouse equipment preferred.
• Physically able to perform assigned duties. Frequently required to lift up to 80 lbs., walk, stoop, stand, climb ladders and stairs. Continuously required to work with material handling machinery.
• Physically able to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.

Essential Functions

• Receive merchandise utilizing receiving tickets, purchase orders and bills of lading.
• Pull and issue supplies and materials from inventory by requisition. Stage these materials by packaging items to make them ready for shipping inclusive of sorting, wrapping, packaging and labeling orders.
• Load delivery vehicles according to scheduled routing.
• Operate forklift, pallet moving and other standard warehousing equipment safely.
• Perform routine maintenance to warehouse equipment and notify the supervisor of contract repairs needed or safety concerns of equipment performance.
• Learn and use the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD electronic purchasing and inventory management systems as it relates to the material handler functions.
• Assist in the weekly inventory process.
• Make emergency hot shot deliveries as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager or his designee.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
