Job summary

Job Details: Job Location: Polytex Fibers LLC - Houston, TX, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process; is responsible for replenishing all the production lines with the necessary material to run the Pinch machine. He is also responsible for moving the finished product and scrap to designated areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in material handling, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety, production and quality.

DESCRIPTION

• Ensures compliance regarding Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Good Housekeeping practices for all activities.
• Supply raw materials to the machine and ensure uninterrupted production flow.
• Contribute to orderly stock finishing boxes to designated areas.
• Prepare finished boxes to bailer machine accordingly.
• Prepare and locate scrap boxes into designated areas.
• Scan and label finished product boxes accurately.
• Maintain clear and thorough records of work-in-progress during shift changes.
• Follow inspection, production, and operational procedures in accordance with work instructions.
• Complete production and inspection reports with precision and attention to detail.
• Conduct quality checks and identify products that do not meet quality standards or customer specifications.
• Follow housekeeping standards and 5's methodology.
• Perform tasks with urgency, accuracy, and a commitment to safety.
• Collaborate with other members of the production team to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Adhere to housekeeping standards and all company safety rules and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in manufacturing or machinery operation is preferred.
• Previous experience operating pallet jack is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Competence in operating basic tools and measuring devices (e.g., tape measure, scale).
• Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying or extended periods. Going up and down ladders/steps.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
