Job summary

VEKA, a national leader in vinyl extrusion, seeks a Material Handler in Compounding at its Fombell, PA site. You will maintain raw material and finished goods inventories to support VEKA's quality products and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include daily forklift checks, stocking materials across multiple floors, railcar handling, data entry of ingredients, and collaborating with supervision to ensure accurate bin locations and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Fork Truck Operator License.
• Ability to identify compounds and minor ingredients.
• Able to operate TrackMobile safely.
• Must pass forklift safety training and safety courses.
• Dependable, punctual and able to work in a group.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily forklift safety checks.
• Stock and deliver raw materials to floors and bins on 6th, 4th and 3rd floors.
• Unload railcars and ensure resin is unloaded as required.
• Enter ingredient data (name, lot, date, pounds) into the data file.
• Coordinate with shift supervisor on bin locations and changes.
• Conduct railcar sampling and daily railcar inventory.
• Daily TrackMobile safety checks and housekeeping of work areas.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job description

VEKA, a national leader in the vinyl extrusion industry, is accepting applications for a Material Handler in Compounding forour site in Fombell, PA .

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining raw material and finished goods inventory according to VEKA established standards enabling VEKA to provide a quality product/service to ensure customer satisfaction.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Responsible for daily forklift safety checks.
• Stocks and delivers raw materials to the correct floors and bins. 6th floor, 4th floor, and 3rd floor.
• Responsible for placing empty supersacks on pallet and uses banter to strap sacks to pallet to be returned to vendor
• Enters all ingredients into a data file with the following information: ingredient name, lot number, date, and pounds.
• Collaborates with shift supervisor to assure all raw materials are in the correct bins and the supervisors are notified of any changes.
• Responsible for railcar sampling
• Responsible for daily railcar inventory
• Responsible for daily TrackMobile safety checks
• Responsible and able to unload railcars. Makes sure resin is being unloaded at all times.
• Responsible for housekeeping of Tower, Mezzanine, Rail Car unloading Area and Entire Compound Plant ensuring a clean and safe work environment
• All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

• Able to identify all Compounds and Minor Ingredients
• Able to run the TrackMobile safely.
• Passes forklift safety training; classroom and driving test.
• Is up to date on all Safety training; computer and on job training.
• Knowledge and understanding of all elevator operation safety and rules.
• Dependable and punctual

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Certified Fork Truck Operator License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to move objects up to 50 pounds
• Ability to ascend or descend ladders and stairs and the like
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull for extended periods of time, occasionally kneeling and bending

NOTE: This is a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Shift differential: additional $1.00 between the hours of 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm; additional $1.50 between the hours of 7:00 pm - 7:00 am.
