Midland-A division of Union State Bank is seeking a Material Handler/Backup Driver for a full-time, in-person role in Missouri. The position involves warehouse duties, order pulling, packing, staging, and occasionally covering CDL-A driver routes in a 48ft–53ft tractor trailer, with about 30% on the road.

Hours are 6:00am–2:00pm, Monday through Friday. Ideal candidates have a solid work history, excellent attendance, and are customer focused.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience of 1 year (required).
• Electric pallet jack experience of 1 year (required).
• CDL A license required; sit-down forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pull, pack, stage or convert orders for shipment using a work order or supervisor instruction.
• Package material for shipment per requirements; ensure labels are legible and include order numbers.
• Generate shipping labels, check stock, input shipping data, and prepare UPS/FedEx shipments and manifests.
• Load trucks with safety checks: chock the truck, clear bed, ensure proper freight placement and securing.
• Secure loads for delivery and maintain all forms and records legibly.
• Perform housekeeping to keep the area clean and free of debris; follow safety rules.
• Drive vehicles under three tons to transport materials between destinations or within yards.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The responsibilities of the Material Handler/Backup driver will include, but are not limited to, picking orders, staging orders, and loading trucks. Additional responsibilities will include covering PTO time for CDL-A Driver routes in an automatic 48ft – 53ft tractor trailer. The majority of this position will be spent in the warehouse with roughly 30% of the time on the road.

The ideal candidate must have a solid work history, excellent attendance record and is customer focused. When working in the warehouse the hours will be Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm. You will have ample notice of when you’ll be covering for the drivers. Experience with operating a stand up forklift and electric pallet jack are preferred.A valid CDL A license and experience with operating a sit-down forklift is required.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pull, pack, stage or convert orders for shipment using a computer generated work order or verbal instruction from supervisor.
• Package material for shipment according to shipping requirements and/or customer specified instruction. Ensure that all product/shipping labels are legible. Include job and order numbers on order tickets.
• Use computer equipment to generate labels, check stock, input data for shipping status, prepare UPS/FedEx shipments and create shipping manifests.
• Load trucks making sure: truck is chocked before attempting to unload and load product; truck bed is clear of debris, obstruction or defect for safe entry/exit; incoming product is free from damage and coincides with packing list or return authorization; and freight is properly positioned and secured in the truck.
• Responsible for properly securing loads for delivery.
• Accurately complete and maintain all forms and records legibly.
• Perform housekeeping duties to keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Perform pre and post trip inspections on vehicle.
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
• Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations such as railroad stations, plants, residences and offices, or within industrial yards.
• Other duties as assigned.
