Job summary

O'Neal Industries, Inc. in South Windsor, CT, is seeking a Material Handler to organize daily shipping operations, prepare materials for shipment, and support production with accurate handling and movement of materials. CDL is preferred but not required.

This role includes operating forklifts, loading/unloading, maintaining inventory accuracy, and performing housekeeping in a safe, organized shipping and production area. Part-time driving duties may be involved.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience required; certification preferred.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
• Basic computer skills for inventory and transaction entry.

Responsibilities

• Organize the shipping floor and stage daily outbound shipments.
• Package materials according to company and customer specifications.
• Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Attach packing slips, certifications, and required documentation.
• Weigh and measure materials to verify shipping requirements.
• Return unprocessed or unused materials to inventory.
• Part-time driving responsibilities

• Use lifting equipment such as hoists, pallet jacks, and cranes.
• Maintain accurate material transactions and location updates in the operating system.
• Set up and operate metal cutting machinery.
• Run bandsaws and other cutting equipment as needed.

• Support cycle counts and inventory audits when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and production area.

Position Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for organizing daily shipping operations, preparing materials for shipment, and supporting production through accurate handling, movement, and processing of materials. This role requires strong attention to detail, safe operation of equipment, and the ability to maintain an efficient and orderly shipping environment. We are looking for someone who also can assist us in driving on a part time basis. You must have a CDL.
