Job Purpose

To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handle freight inbound/outbound properly; maintain warehouse orderliness and good housekeeping; load/unload trucks and trailers safely; ensure shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded; store stock properly; perform material handling services for shipping/receiving activities; and work with warehouse sheets using a forklift. Maintain forklift safety following all policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient warehouse operation.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts and/or EPJs.
  • Understand computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks/trailers safely and efficiently.
  • Work flexible hours, including 10-12 hour shifts, and work at heights if necessary.
  • Pick and move stock weighing from 1 lb. to 50 lbs.
  • Ensure shipment staging and loading accuracy.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness.
  • Process outbound cross-dock freight as needed.
  • Store stock properly and move products into storage racks.
  • Use warehouse sheets to pick orders and load trailers.
  • Verify shipment accuracy against paperwork.
  • Complete all documentation properly.
  • Operate forklifts safely, following OSHA and company policies, including seatbelt use.
  • Perform daily forklift inspections.
  • Handle customer products properly and report damages or issues.
  • Report accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Spot trailers to maintain yard flow.
  • Keep dock doors accessible and clear of debris or snow.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work with urgency and accountability with limited supervision.
  • Read, write, and understand English.
  • Pay attention to detail and quality.
  • Communicate clearly and resolve problems effectively.
  • Work overtime and cover shifts as needed.
  • Experience with sit-down forklifts/EPJs, pallet building, and cross-docking preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Qualifications
  • 3-6 months of forklift driving experience with sit-down forklifts and EPJs.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
