Position Summary

The Material Handler (Forklift Operator) is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload products and materials within the warehouse and production areas. This role supports the smooth flow of goods and ensures inventory accuracy in alignment with Calbee’s quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper placement and securing of materials.

Supply production lines with necessary materials and remove finished products to designated storage areas.

Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.

Maintain accurate inventory records through scanning systems or manual logs.

Adhere to all company safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and safe driving practices.

Assist in general warehouse duties such as cleaning, organizing, and participating in cycle counts.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying warehouse conditions (e.g., temperature, noise).

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
