This position's primary responsibility is to efficiently sort, identify, label, and safely store material handling and storage products. The role is crucial in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment while ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout the facility.

Important Notice About Working Conditions:

This job is physically demanding and requires working in a very dusty environment, both indoors and outdoors. Work is performed year-round in varying conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. Applicants must be comfortable working in harsh weather while handling heavy materials.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Forklift Operation: Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport, stack, and retrieve materials.
  2. Material Sorting: Sort and categorize various material handling and storage products according to established guidelines and standards.
  3. Identification: Accurately identify products and materials, verifying their quality, quantity, and proper labeling.
  4. Storage and Organization: Properly band, label, store, and arrange materials in designated storage areas, ensuring accessibility and efficient space utilization.
  5. Inventory Management: Assist in tracking inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks, and reporting discrepancies to the supervisor.
  6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper handling of materials, safe forklift operation, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  7. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and other equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory movement, material identification, and storage locations.
  9. Sales Support: Provide technical assistance to the sales team.
  10. Teamwork: Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure a cohesive and efficient workflow.
  11. Other duties as assigned by the onsite manager.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified.
  • Ability to operate and read industrial scales and tape measures.
  • Experience operating packaging equipment, stretch wrap machines, and banding material equipment.
  • Strong ability to follow safety protocols in a hazardous and dusty work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in receiving and order fulfillment roles.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent job experience required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or industrial setting.
Physical and Environmental Working Conditions:
  • Dusty and Noisy: The work environment is very dusty due to material handling and fabrication processes. Ear and respiratory protection may be required.
  • Exposure to Weather: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions including rain, snow, high heat, and freezing temperatures.
  • Physically Demanding: Requires frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, climbing, bending, and stooping.
  • Fast-Paced and Distracting: The warehouse contains moving equipment, machinery, and loud noises, requiring constant attention to surroundings.
  • Protective Gear: Must be willing to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including dust masks, gloves, and safety glasses.
Position Type and Work Schedule:
  • Full-time position.
  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
  • Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
Tools and Equipment Used:
  • Computer, printer, telephone, two-way radio, fax.
  • Welders, portable and stationary saws, power tools.
  • Overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack.
