EXCEL Group is currently seeking skilled Material Handlers & Forklift Operators for our industrial jobsite in Freeport, Texas. In this role, you will operate forklifts and/or handle materials to support efficient production and logistics operations. Key responsibilities include the safe and timely transportation of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility to ensure continuous workflow in a fast-paced industrial environment.
MATERIAL HANDLER:- Overview
- The Material Handler supports daily operations within the warehouse and packaging areas of a chemical plant. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated bagging and palletizing equipment, loading trailers, and maintaining cleanliness to support quality and safety standards. This is a physically demanding role requiring strong time management and the ability to work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.
- Education and Experience
- Prior warehouse experience preferred
- Experience in logistics, material handling, or other physically demanding jobs strongly considered
- Certifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work efficiently at a repetitive, fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Capable of interpreting and following verbal and written instructions
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Physical Requirements:
- Lift, carry, push, or pull 50 lbs repetitively and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and use of hands/wrists
- Climb stairs and ladders; work primarily indoors with some outdoor exposure
- Responsibilities:
- Operate automated bagging and palletizing equipment to package PVC powder
- Monitor packaging machines to ensure quality and productivity standards are met
- Label and seal 50-pound bags, box them, and prepare for shipment
- Stack product boxes on pallets and load onto trailers via forklift
- Support continuous machine operation and perform equipment adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including frequent sweeping of PVC powder
- Follow all plant safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow
FORKLIFT OPERATOR:- Overview
- The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in maintaining smooth production and logistics operations by efficiently handling materials and products throughout the facility. This role requires the safe operation of forklifts and other industrial equipment, attention to detail in inventory management, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Forklift Operators collaborate closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely movement of goods in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Education and Experience
- Prior experience operating forklifts in an industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred
- Certifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Skills and Abilities:
- Safety and efficiently operate a forklift

- Physically able to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in varying conditions

- Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport raw materials, components, and finished products within the facility
- Load and unload materials from production lines and storage locations to maintain steady workflow
- Perform regular inventory checks and ensure proper documentation and tracking of materials
- Support warehouse logistics by organizing materials and products in appropriate locations and ensuring timely deliveries
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment as needed to assist in warehouse functions
- Follow all safety guidelines and report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately
- Inspect loads for damage or irregularities and report issues to supervisors
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to prioritize and coordinate tasks
- Assist in routine inspections and basic maintenance of forklifts and related equipment
- Respond appropriately to workplace emergencies and follow established protocols
