This is a 2nd shift position, working Monday 1:30 pm - 11:30 pm, Tuesday-Thursday 3:30 pm -1:30 am. With a $2 shift differential

Job Purpose

American Products is currently seeking a Material Handler to join our team! We are growing rapidly and are looking for dedicated, hard working people seeking career opportunities. We offer 100% paid tuition, a generous paid time off package and a “safety-first” work environment.

The Material Handler will operate fork lifts and other industrial vehicles. They will be moving materials throughout the plant in order to fulfill manuafacturing needs. Additionally, he/she will comply with all safety rules and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • Load or unload materials onto or off of trucks for shipment and receipt.
  • Maintain general upkeep of fork truck and replace fuel as necessary.
  • Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; not required.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

  • At least one year of manufacturing experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Must be dependable, able to meet attendance, overtime and other scheduling requirements.
  • Must be able to perform work safely, including utilization of all required personal protective equipment. At a minimum, this includes safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot or cold).
  • Passion for delivering quality work and practicing continuous improvement.
