Job Purpose

Watson Metal Masters is currently seeking a Material Handler to join our team! We are growing rapidly and are looking for dedicated, hardworking people seeking career opportunities. We offer 100% paid tuition, a generous paid time off package and a “safety-first” work environment.

The Material Handler will operate forklifts and other industrial vehicles. They will be moving materials throughout the plant to fulfill manufacturing needs. Additionally, he/she will comply with all safety rules and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering lifting device.
2. Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
3. Load or unload materials onto or off of trucks for shipment and receipt.
4. Maintain general upkeep of fork truck and replace fuel as necessary.
5. Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

1. At least one year of manufacturing experience is required.
2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
3. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
4. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
5. Must be dependable, able to meet attendance, overtime, and other scheduling requirements.
6. Must be able to perform work safely, including utilization of all required personal protective equipment. At a minimum, this includes safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
7. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot or cold).
8. Passion for delivering quality work and practicing continuous improvement.
