Job summary

Calbee America is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support production and warehouse operations by moving materials, receiving, storing, staging, and preparing finished goods for shipment. You will follow GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, and SQF, maintaining inventory accuracy and a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, performing cycle counts, documenting movements, and assisting in training new employees while sustaining production flow and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks.
  • Forklift certification required per OSHA.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong documentation skills for shipping and inventory.
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English.

Job description

Position Summary

The Material Handler plays a vital role in supporting Calbee America’s production and warehouse operations by ensuring timely and accurate movement of all materials. This includes receiving and storing raw materials, staging materials for production, and preparing finished goods for shipment. The role requires adherence to established procedures and documentation standards to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished goods.
  • Receive incoming raw materials, verify paperwork, and store items in appropriate locations.
  • Retrieve, stack, palletize, and stage finished goods for shipment.
  • Load outgoing trailers and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records, including location and counts.
  • Ensure proper storage procedures are followed for all materials.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support seamless production flow.
  • Assist and train new employees as directed.
  • Attend and apply learnings from training on GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Perform related duties as assigned and meet quality, sanitation, and production standards.
Qualifications
  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and other material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of documentation related to shipping, receiving, and inventory.
  • Able to read, write legibly, and communicate in English.
  • Able to perform essential functions satisfactorily with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours).
  • Perform medium to heavy-duty work in a manufacturing environment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • PPE requirements vary by task and location within the facility.
  • Standard PPE includes protective clothing, gloves, and hair nets.
