Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia in Richmond, VA seeks a Warehouse Associate to safely receive and transfer donated goods, supporting leadership as needed.

You will operate material handling equipment, sort items, load trailers, maintain clean work areas, and provide courteous service to internal and external customers. Evening/weekend availability may be required. Safety and privacy policies apply.

Qualifications

Position Summary

To safely and efficiently receive and transfer of donated goods and related items from the dock to the designated departments or areas. Provide additional assistance to leadership as needed.

Essential Duties

1. 1. Sorts donated goods into the proper container for transfer to designated areas.
2. 2. Safely and efficiently uses material handling equipment to transport donated goods to the appropriate area.
3. 3. Loads trailers and containers when required.
4. 4. Follows established procedures for the safe disposal of waste, adhering to all recycling procedures.
5. 5. Maintains good housekeeping of assigned areas inside and outside of the facility.
6. 6. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers and performs other duties as assigned by team management to include filing in for other positions when needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• 1 year experience in a related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Material Handling experience preferred.

• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
