Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking Material Handlers to support packaging, shipping, and receipt of materials on the plant floor in the Pittsburgh area.

The role involves coordinating with team members across multiple locations and requires safe, efficient work on a rotating 4 on/4 off schedule (4am–5pm/5pm–5am). Responsibilities include loading/unloading with crane and forklift, ensuring products meet specs, measuring dimensions, processing paperwork, and supporting production processes through

Qualifications

• Proficient communication, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Basic computer skills and data entry ability.
• Basic math for measurements and calculations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials with overhead crane and forklift.
• Package and ship finished product per customer specs.
• Measure product dimensions with tape measure and micrometer.
• Anticipate needs of Line Operators and Equipment Operators to keep lines running.
• Process shipping/receiving paperwork and enter data into systems.
• Familiarize with production processes to aid problem solving.
