Job summary

Chicago Tube & Iron Company is seeking a Material Handler for the 3rd shift in Saint Paul, MN. You will operate saws and equipment to cut, process, and prepare materials for shipment, and move steel using forklifts and cranes.

The role requires safety‑minded individuals comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for growth, hands-on training, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing, warehouse, or fabrication experience
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Experience using measuring tools like tape measures, calipers, micrometers
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, side loaders, saws, or packaging equipment (training available)
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to read blueprints or shop drawings is a plus

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and equipment to cut, process, package, and prep material for shipment
• Safely operate forklifts, Raymond side loaders, and overhead cranes to move steel in the warehouse
• Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment
• Pull, stage, and assemble customer orders
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production and shipping goals

Regular Full-Time St. Paul, MN, US

What You’ll Do

• Operating saws and other equipment to cut, process, package, and prepare material for shipment
• Safely operating forklifts, Raymond side loaders, and overhead cranes to move steel throughout the warehouse
• Loading and unloading trucks using material handling equipment
• Pulling, staging, and assembling customer orders
• Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Working closely with your team to meet daily production and shipping goals

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for dependable, safety‑mindful individuals who enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing, warehouse, or fabrication experience
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Experience using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring tools
• Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, side loaders, saws, or packaging equipment (preferred but not required—we’ll train the right candidate)
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to read blueprints or shop drawings is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout an 8‑hour shift
• Ability to regularly lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and steel products
